MAD CIRCUIT, the creative brainchild of acclaimed NorwegIan producer Joachim “JR” Rygg, has seen many forms, iterations, and collaborations over the years, culminating in an eclectic catalog of dancefloor ready hip-hop.
Most recently, MAD CIRCUIT’s “My Fit” ft TeaMarrr was prominently used in Netflix and Mindy Kaling’s hit-show Never Have I Ever. The use spurred a legitimate viral moment for MAD CIRCUIT as “My Fit” instantly shot up viral streaming charts in North America and Europe, while also being boosted by thousands of users uploading TikTok videos of themselves dancing to the song in their favorite outfits. Today, “My Fit” is well over a million of total Spotify streams, and continues to be discovered by fans all around the world.
While “My Fit” introduced MAD CIRCUIT to a massive global audience, it's the newest evolution of the group that’s likely going to keep many hooked to Mad Circuit’s pop, hip-hop, and dance vibes forever. After releasing EPs featuring TeaMarrr (Atlantic Records) J Ryggs now brings two sultry, swaggy, and gritty female members in songstress Sereda and rising underground rapper LG (Team Genius) now joining the ever-evolving MAD CIRCUIT narrative.
The trio of JR, Sereda, and LG is a creative force to be reckoned with. Each already successful in their own respective music careers, all three come from vastly different corners of the world: Sereda hails from winter-y Toronto, LG honed her craft in the gully Philadelphia freestyle hip-hop circuit, while JR bounces between his studios in Oslo and Los Angeles—the three of them coming together in Hollywood instantly unleashed an eclectic creative cocktail, that is the colorful and worldly EP, releasing everywhere on soon in 2021.
“Sereda and LG are so different, but both are really cool, high-end voices that always flash new things to me every time I work with them. Each of their voices serve as two different ‘instruments’ I can use in the studio,” says Ryggs. “LG obviously boasts a strong hip-hop background, while Sereda comes from an entirely different realm with her Spanish swag and sexy style of R&B and pop. But yet both have this gritty confidence oozing out of them, which really brings it all together.”
While there has always been a bit of calculated anonymity with previous MAD CIRCUIT releases, this specific trio of JR, Sereda, and LG is unabashedly committed to confidently continue what has already been built and take it to new heights with their own distinct styles and energy.
“JR channeled the vibe of me and Sereda in every beat he created. His beats allowed Sereda and I to get in the zone and make each song in our own way. Sereda pushed me to write with a newfound edge and gave me the space to bring my own style to every track,” says LG. “MAD CIRCUIT allows me to explore different sounds and styles that I would otherwise never explore in my other projects. JR brings the bounce, Sereda brings the swag, and I bring the dynamic flows. That’s the recipe for us.”
